Invenergy’s Impact Report had traditionally focused solely on the organization, its people, the communities they engaged with and their overall environmental stewardship. But in 2022, Invenergy announced a path to Net Zero by 2050, and, in turn, sought to modify the traditional report to focus on their environmental impact, social practices and governance structures to provide transparency that would build trust with stakeholders, investors, customers, employees and regulators. The challenge was doing all of that while also evolving the Impact Report’s unique identity and mission — without losing connection to the Invenergy master brand as a whole.

We first dug into the Invenergy brand, using those elements to help craft a foundation for our Impact Report’s voice and expression system. We leaned into an approach with shared visual language and brand cues, then paired it with a distinct, impact-focused narrative that told the story of this essential part of Invenergy’s brand and business. Despite its critical role within the organization, much of the Invenergy Impact’s accomplishments were unknown or overlooked by key audiences. That fact, paired with the rise in competing offerings in the clean energy space, meant that highlighting Invenergy’s decades of knowledge, depth of expertise and legacy of innovation was imperative.
